The Burchfield-Penney Art Center around the corner. I attended a panel discussion on the slow death of print journalism a few weeks back, which I’ll have a post on soon, but the new gallery/museum is pretty impressive. Once I become an adult and work on cultivating some more sophisticated tastes, I’ll head there more often to look at sculptures and drink wine.
Extreme Inspiration
Hadn’t planned on it, but I headed down to Buffalo’s west side to be a part of the big grand finale of the week-long project to rebuild the Powell family’s home, courtesy of ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.. How many chances does one have to be at an event like that? Not the Super Bowl, sure; but cool nonetheless.

THANK YOU, SEASON TICKETS
It’s finally football season again; here’s hoping the Bills’ preseason performance against the Bears is a building block toward a winning record in the regular season.
The annual Kids Day game was capped off with a fireworks display whilst we pounded our remaining beers.
Thank You, Jebus
The Sabres re-signed someone of value? An actual leader? This can’t be true.

The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra put on a free concert in Delaware Park this evening. Great stuff, though it’s a shame one of the event’s sponsors (Target) deemed it appropriate to distribute inflatable beach balls to all the kids in attendance. Thus, as you can imagine, there were about 68 screaming kids kicking beach balls all over the place while I tried to listen to the soothing sounds of The Blue Danube.
