Last-minute Christmas shopping is never a good idea, but I gotta say traffic wasn’t as much of a nightmare as I’d expected. That said, waiting in line behind an older gentleman complaining about his defective TV wasn’t met with a good deal of enjoyment by yours truly. His detailed notes littering the pages of the TV’s manual were almost enough to send me into a festive holiday rage. Alas, said rage exceeded my desire to take a picture of him, so you’ll have to make due with a picture of the relatively mild traffic getting out of the shopping plaza.

Ya know, it’s true what they say about a watched pot never boiling. I put a pot of water on the stove, stared it down like a hawk eyeing its prey, and it wouldn’t boil! I leave the room for three minutes, come back, and — guess what? — it was boiling!

I just had to throw in another picture for the 19th. Does anyone really want their house smelling like leaves? And lest you think the scent of these candles will remind you of brisk fall days spent enjoying nature’s wonder as the leaves turn, the candles smelled more like the pile of wet, rotting leaves you’ve left on the side of the road for trash pick-up. Enjoy!
